More Than Capital
We bring flexible capital at scale, operational expertise and the full resources of Sixth Street to support organizations as they execute on growth and innovation strategies.

Proven long-term partner to the world’s leading sports and live entertainment platforms
National Football League
New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks
In August 2024, the National Football League (NFL) owners voted to approve Sixth Street as one of a select group of firms eligible to invest in NFL teams for the first time. The policy provides owners access to capital for infrastructure investment, generational planning and other strategic priorities while preserving their full decision-making authority and control. Sixth Street is proud to have formed partnerships with the Kraft family through our investment in the New England Patriots and the Khosla family through our investment in the Seattle Seahawks. Sixth Street is also a founding institutional backer of the NFL’s Flag Football League, which will feature women’s and men’s competitions and is expected to launch in the lead-up to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

National Basketball Association
San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics
In January 2021, the National Basketball Association (NBA) became the first major U.S. sports league to establish a formal framework permitting institutions to invest in multiple teams, while requiring those investments to remain passive and preserving control with each franchise’s managing owner. Later that year, Sixth Street led an investment alongside Michael Dell in the San Antonio Spurs, becoming a strategic partner to Spurs Managing Partner Peter J. Holt and the Holt family and supporting their long-term vision for the Spurs and the franchise’s future in San Antonio. In 2025, Sixth Street expanded its NBA presence by joining the investor group led by Bill Chisholm that acquired a controlling interest in the Boston Celtics. The transaction marked Sixth Street’s first investment in a second franchise within the same U.S. professional sports league and reflected the broader opportunities created by the NBA’s institutional-investment framework.
Global Women’s Soccer
Bay FC and Sunderland AFC Women
In 2023, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) was considering expansion to its 14th franchise. Sixth Street, in partnership with four legends of the U.S. Women’s National Team (Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton and Aly Wagner), led the winning bid to establish Bay FC and in the process committed the then-largest institutional investment in a women’s sports team and became the first institutional lead owner of a major league U.S. sports franchise. Sixth Street subsequently brought on Kay Cossington, former Technical Director for the English Football Association, to form and lead Bay Collective, a global multi-club ownership platform focused on accelerating the growth of women’s football. In 2026, Bay Collective acquired Sunderland AFC Women, beginning a new era for the historic English club.
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are two of the world’s most storied and successful football clubs. Owned by their members (socios), both clubs pursued distinctive strategic and financial priorities following the disruption caused by the global pandemic. In 2022, Sixth Street formed a €360m, 20-year partnership with Real Madrid related to the operation of new businesses at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium as the club completed the transformation of its iconic home. Later that year, Sixth Street invested in a share of FC Barcelona’s domestic media rights, providing the club with capital to support its long-term strategic priorities. Both clubs have continued to compete at the highest level, with Real Madrid winning the UEFA Champions League in 2024, FC Barcelona winning La Liga in 2025 and FC Barcelona Femení winning the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2026.

Major League Baseball
The San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants are an iconic franchise in Sixth Street’s hometown of San Francisco and an essential ambassador for the city and the broader Bay Area. In 2025, Sixth Street made an investment in the Giants, representing the franchise’s first major capital partnership in three decades. The investment supports the organization’s strategic vision to compete as champions on and off the field, including leveraging Sixth Street’s partnership with Legends to support the commercial potential in and around Oracle Park and the Mission Rock development, delivering memorable sports and live entertainment programming and deepening the Giants’ community impact throughout San Francisco.

Operating Platforms
Legends Global and atVenu
Sixth Street's partnerships with Legends Global and atVenu reflect our commitment to investing in the operating platforms that help sports and live entertainment organizations create exceptional fan experiences, grow commercial revenue and operate at scale. In January 2021, Sixth Street became the majority investor in Legends alongside the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys and later supported its August 2024 merger with ASM Global to build a full-service global leader in venue operations, hospitality and premium fan experiences. In 2024, Sixth Street completed a $130m investment in atVenu, the leading live event commerce platform powering point-of-sale, payments and inventory management for premier venues, festivals and touring artists.
